Having a website that follows the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 can improve a website’s accessibility and navigability for those with vision, hearing, physical or other difficulties that impair one’s ability to access or view web content.
To learn more about these guidelines, here is a link to the quick reference guide posted on the W3.org website. It explains what information, interface components, organizational structure, and visual presentation style will enable better accessibility for those with disabilities.
A web accessibility evaluation tool is the WAVE tool. Type in your website address. Then receive an evaluation report for errors, alerts, and structural elements immediately. It’s a limited application but it does offer some quick feedback.
